“I create art with the absence of active thought to show that art is just about getting something out of yourself.  It’s a process of transmuting energy.  Sometimes your soul just wants to speak in ways that the human language cannot express.

My works represent letting go of self-consciousness, coming back into the essence of creation, and realizing how beautiful that is.”

Angela (b. 1990) is a self-taught artist based in Southern California, United States.  She has been drawing since childhood and won her first award in grade school. She began abstract painting in 2021.

Su works with acrylic on canvas, using layered brushstrokes to create the illusion of three-dimensionality (3D) in her light code-infused abstract expressionist paintings.

Painting is the realization of her authentic self; it allows her to tap into a universal omnipresence beyond the transient physical forms.  Albeit a physical act, it quiets conscious thoughts and takes her into the vast radiance of her true nature, allowing the reality of awareness to manifest onto the canvases.

There is an “is-ness” that exists when all the noise from our thoughts and the outside world are silenced- the presence that cannot be defined by words.  Her works act as a passage for us to remember the essence of who we truly are.
